Resume Listings
Most jobs are filled by employers running their own resume searches. resumes are listed in order of those most recently updated, so its a good idea to update regularly.
(You don't have to alter any details in your resume, just login, go to Update resume, then click Update at the foot of the resume.)
Emails
You will receive regular e-mails informing you of appropriate job postings, and a weekly Here's Looking at You Kid? email letting you know which companies have viewed your resume. Please ensure your email address is correctly entered as it is our main means of contacting you.
Jobs Board
Only subscribing freelancers can view details and apply online for these. To view current vacancies login and click on jobs. Clicking on the subject brings up the specific vacancy details. To apply for a position you must be logged in. Click the link below the job specification.
Applications are sent by e-mail direct to the employer. We recommend that you include a covering letter. All applications contain a direct link to your resume.
(It is worth noting that while the jobs board is very popular and proving to be a great success, most positions are filled by employers using the search facility to find people.)
Resumes
Some formatting may be lost when cutting and pasting from a Word version of your resume, so doublecheck the appearance of your resumes.
To jazz up the appearance of your resume simply add some very simple coding. This will enable you to use bold, underlining and italics.
Here's a simple guide:
< b>Photographer< /b> would give you Photographer in bold
< b>< u>Lab Manager< /u>< /b> would give you Lab Manager in bold and underlined
< i>Researcher< /i> would give you Researcher in italics.
(N.B. There is no gap between the letter and the bracket - we can't show that, as it would turn into bold etc. on this screen!)
You can combine one or more of these. Its quite straightforward, just remember that the coding comes immediately before the text you want altered, and then immediately afterward (the forward slash is vital here).
Website links
This is the basic coding for a link to any website. Adapt this coding to your needs, typing in the space between inverted commas the website address you want to link to, and between the angled brackets the text you want to be displayed.

Attaching a Word resume
To upload a Word version of your resume click on Upload Word on the menu bar - N.B. Word resumes are best saved as Rich Text Format beforehand.
This is a static page - you cannot amend it. To make changes go back to your original Word resume (e.g. on your Desktop), update and save it, then login to production base, click on Upload Word and delete the existing Word resume you have attached, then upload the new version (sounds complicated, but its not!)
Please note that some search engines may be able to pick up details in your Word document resume - so if you are concerned about privacy you may wish to omit your address and contact numbers.
Diary Availability
You can enter one or multiple periods of availability (click on Availability on the menu). These are displayed toward the top of your resume.
If you prefer, you can leave your availability blank and your resume will display Available at the top.
Webpage
You are automatically assigned a webpage, which gives your resume (without contact details) a web presence. You can email this as a link, enabling people easily to see your resume. To change the webpage address, or to delete it show it wont show in search engines, click on Create resume webpage on the welcome page when you're logged in.
Instant Messaging
You can use the Instant Messenger to contact and network with other freelancers online. Click Launch Instant Messenger then select a recipient from the drop down list. Then type away!
